Mid-East Tunes is a social platform for musicians throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa to share their music and positive message. Musicians can create individual profiles, upload their songs, and share them with the world and each other. Part of the Mideastyouth.com network, and started by 2011 Senior TED fellow Esra'a Al Shafei, Mid-East Tunes is devoted to a message of non-violence and human rights in the Middle East and abroad.

Streamlease is a unique web project dedicated to solving some of the most pressing issues in the real-estate industry today, striving to bring together brokers, agents, and property managers once and for all. Streamlease, being a startup, was looking for a complete brand identity. Working in conjuction with the talented consultants at Maven Web Solutions, we built a brand that is hip but down-to-earth, stressing ease of communication and making the brand accessible to a broad audience.

Artsicle is a web-based art rental service for art lovers. The company finds the best emerging artists at the top MFA programs and allows them to share their work with the world through a rental program that starts at $25 a month. Customers can then try the actual work in their homes and choose to buy work if they love it. Artsicle has been featured on Forbes, TechCrunch, Mashable, Inc Magazine and much more.

Grinderman Coffee is a roaster who bike delivers in the Chicago area. Focused on "direct trade" coffee, where the farmers recieve direct compensation for their product, Grinderman is not only about roasting great coffee and delivering it to your door, but also about supporting small family farms from the around the world.

Prickly Paradigm Press is an publisher of academic journals with a bit of a twist. Based out of the University of Chicago, PPP "is devoted to giving serious authors free rein to say what's right and what's wrong about their disciplines and about the world." They came to me looking for an old-style etching or woodcut print that takes famous printing press iconography and combines with modern tropes (computer, phone). In addition, they needed a website that fit their new look and was easy to update (Drupal CMS).

Silvrspoon is a new Android and iPhone service that allows consumers to check into their favorite restuarants, view and order items, and receive custom rewards all from their phone. In addition, Silvrspoon provides restaurants with targeted analytics and valuable user feedback. Ultimately, it attempts to make the dining experience a social, beneficial experience for all parties.

What I do: Recently, I've taken a full-time position at SmugMug as a User Interface Designer. I'm very excited about this position and hope to really make an impact there.
Why I do it: As a designer and illustrator, I want to take an experience over the top and really amaze people. This means having fun, getting my hands dirty, and finding the perfect and most creative solution to the project. In my spare time, I work on a number of personal art projects, make music, am an avid triathlete, and enjoy traveling the globe.
